Fab Lab

This guide is to demonstrate all of the available resources in Fant Memorial Library's Fab(brication) Lab(oratory) and how to use them.

Cricut Maker and Easy Press

The Cricut Maker is a 2D plotting machine that can cut or draw an uploaded design onto a variety of material including paper, vinyl, and fabric. We also have a Cricut Easy Press that can be used for heat transfer vinyl projects.

What We Provide

We provide the following materials for the Cricut Maker

  • Cricut cutting mats size 12x12 in Standard, Light, Strong, and Fabric grip
  • Fine Point Blade
  • Rotary Blade
  • Engraving Tip
  • Black Fine Point Pen
  • Weeding Tools

What do I need?

  • A design prepared in Cricut Design Space and a device to connect to the machine
    • Cricut Design Space is a free program for your Windows, Apple, and Android devices
    • Cricut will upload a variety of file types: JPEG, PNG, SVG, DXF, EPS
  • All materials needed to complete you project
    • Cardstock, vinyl, fabric, markers (must be Cricut brand to fit in machine), transfer tape, etc.
    • T-shirts, tote bags, tumblers, coffee mugs, etc. 
  • A reservation for the FabLab
    • You can reserve the FabLab for up to two hours here. If more time is needed talk to a member of the Library Staff.
