Zotero: Making Research More Efficient

A step-by-step guide on how to install and use basic functions in Zotero

Creating Groups

To create a group, log in to Zotero.org, and click the Groups tab.

Name your group, and choose the accessibility settings. (This only needs to be done by one member in the group!)

  • Private: only invited members can access
  • Public Closed: Anyone with a link can access
  • Public Open: Anyone can find and access

Invite members to the group by clicking on "Members Settings" (under Group Settings) and "Send More Invitations."

To add items to the group library, drag items from your own library into the group folder in the Folders and Libraries pane within Zotero Standalone.
