Including an Equity Advocate
Equity Advocates are faculty and staff members who have been trained to look for practices and behaviors that have a negative impact on racial equity in hiring. Typically they are volunteers from other departments on campus and can be especially helpful for search committees when other members have not gone through equitable search committee trainings.
