Because of these different cultural expectations related to attribution, it is important to be aware of local expectations. MUW takes academic honesty very seriously and has an honor code and an academic disonesty policy and in the Student Handbook.
MUW Honor Code states, "I pledge myself to uphold the highest standards of honesty in all phases of university life both alone and with many and accept my responsibility for helping others to live up to such standards. All this I will do that my University may become greater, better and more beautiful than when I entered it."
Academic misconduct includes: "cheating, plagiarism, fabrication, falsification, or other actions that violate commonly accepted intellectual and ethical standards within academic and scientific communities."
