Academic dishonesty
One major question is: Why are people tempted to commit academically dishonest actions at all? Some of the reasons people commit academically dishonest behaviors include:
- They run out of time on an assignment, so they panic and take an ethically dubious shortcut
- They get lazy and don’t want to complete their own work
- They don’t have a good understanding of academic integrity
- They forget to take careful notes and accidentally reuse material without attribution
- They are afraid to ask for help from their instructor
